New projects, programs and scholarships at KBM!

As the summer holidays started there are several recent successes we want to share with you:

  • Nina Wezynfeld received Sonata 19 grant (NCN) – Wpływ fosforylacji peptydów Aβ na aktywność redoks ich kompleksów z jonami miedzi i proces agregacji w kontekście choroby Alzheimera
  • Łukasz Górski received Hydrostrateg II grant (NCBR) – Autonomiczny System Internetu Rzeczy (IoT) do Monitorowania Jakości Wód oraz Operacyjnego Wspomagania Identyfikacji Zagrożeń
  • Klaudia Głowacz received Preludium 22 grant (NCN) – Fluorescencja multispektralna w połączeniu z metodami uczenia maszynowego do identyfikacji bakterii związanych z żywnością
  • Marta Jarczewska received Materials for Young 2 grant – Zastosowanie hybrydowych materiałów abiologiczno (węglowych i węglowo/złotych) – biologicznych (kwasów nukleinowych) w nieinwazyjnych, naskórnych, elektrochemicznych platformach biosensorowych jako narzędzi do terapeutycznego monitorowania leków i kontroli systemów ich dostarczania
  • Dominika Kozon-Markiewicz received Biotech_1 grant – Wpływ nanoplastiku na dwuwarstwę lipidową oraz komórki łożyska
  • Marcin Drozd, Aleksandra Tobolska, Małgorzata Wesoły and Nina Wezynfeld are the laureates of the Best of the best 2 contest (IDUB PW)
  • Marta Jarczewska received the scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for outstanding young scientists

Open days of the Chair of Medical Biotechnology!

The invite students of Biotechnology and Chemical Technology courses who are interested in performing Engineer and Master theses in the Chair of Medical Biotechology as well as students from earlier semesters who would like to participate in our research in the form of volunteering or research projects. 

As a part of Open days on Tuesday 12th of December 2023 at 5:15 pm on MS TEAMS PLATFORM, prof. Michał Chudy, the Head of the Chair, will present the main areas of research conducted in the Chair. We invite you all: MS Teams, access code: 5yb07n3

On 13th and 14th of December, the members of the Chair and PhD students will be available in the laboratories to give more information to everyone who is interested on the research we currently perform.

Invitation to 27th international µTAS 2023 conference

Chemical and Biological Microsystems Society (CBMS) and the conference Chairs Prof. Zbigniew Brzózka and Prof. WUT Elżbieta Jastrzębskaare pleased to invite you to the 27th international µTAS 2023 conference taking place for the first time in Poland in Katowice on 15-19.10.2023.

The conference will provide an opportunity to listen to many interesting lectures in the field of chemical and biological microsystems. Scientists from all over the world will have the opportunity to present their research results, participate in microfluidics workshops and exchange scientific experiences with world-class pioneers in the field of miniaturized chemical and biological systems.

KBM members received NCN grants

National Science Centre has announced the results of OPUS 21 and PRELUDIUM 20 competitions. The founding for OPUS was awarded by dr hab. inż. Elżbieta Jastrzębska, prof. PW. The founding for PRELUDIUM was granted to mgr inż. Aleksandra Tobolska and mgr inż. Kasper Marchlewicz. Congratulations!!! More information.

Falling Walls Lab Warsaw

Agnieszka Żuchowska PhD. Eng. from prof. Brzózka group (LOC) won the first prize ex aequo at Falling Walls Lab contest which took place in Warsaw at our university on 15th of September 2022. The winners of the competition will participate in international final in Berlin in November.

It is our pleasure to announce that Nina Wezynfeld, PhD Eng. from prof. Wróblewski group (BETIP) received a Ministry Scholarship for young researchers. Congratulations!
