My current research interests cover synthesis and functionalization of metallic and semiconductor nanoparticles (plasmonic gold nanoparticles and quantum dots) for bioanalytical and therapeutic applications. Another field of my studies focuses on the investigation of new classes of inorganic nanomaterials characterizing by intrinsic peroxidase-like catalytic activity. Developed, functional nanomaterials are intended to be used as labels in bioanalytical assays with optical (colorimetric/SPR) and electrochemical detection.
