My current research interests are mainly focused on in vitro studies of the potential anticancer and cytotoxic properties of a novel family of 2D titanium carbides and nitrides (MXenes, e.g. Ti2C, Ti3C2, Ti2N, Ti4N3). I also analyze the influence of such nanomaterials on cell lines by monitoring: (A) the specific, physico-chemical interactions between 2D nanocrystal and cellular membrane, and/or the inside of a cell; (B) basic cells’ functions – the potential mechanisms of molecular interactions on the receptors, proteins, and genes level.
